Project Portal will make your distrubuted team feel like a team again.
Get Notified Learn MoreWith an always-on video and audio connection, you’ll increase awareness of one another, create empathy between team members, and enable a more natural and immersive way to communicate.
The audio and microphone are off when Portal is not in use and only enabled when you need it.
There's something special about seeing your colleagues as if they're part of your physical space.
No need to fumble around with a keyboard and mouse. Instead, use the hands that you've grown accustomed to.
Simply walk up to Portal, wave as if you're saying hi, and start engaging with your colleagues.
Portal will shut down at night and start back up in the morning, so you don't have to manage another device.
We're 100% sure that you'll find new and fun ways to use Portal, so go ahead! Give it a shot!
To give you a better idea of what’s included and needed to setup a portal device, the diagram below provides additional details of each component.
We’re using the Microsoft Kinect for gesture recognition allowing us to ditch the keyboard. We’re also using the Kinect for capturing audio.
We’re using a 55-inch, portrait mounted TV so your team memebers appear life-sized and are not confined to a small box at the top of your screen.
Currently, we're using a standard HD webcam to capture and stream video.
Not shown, we’re using a standard i5 / i7 computer with USB 3.0 and Windows 8 or higher.
Do you have a distributed team that you want to make feel like a more closely-knit team? Let us know. We’re always looking for teams to help influence the project.
